We're not sure what ‘Freeze’ a lot means. Most of the problems you most likely will experience is PowerExplorer attempting to compensate for a hardware error or WMP giving an error. Did you follow the installation instructions and trouble shooting guide explained at http://mammothi.none/help/PowerExplorer/index.html? The firewire card requirement is necessary for the best possible experience, you don’t use the proper card that can cause additional problems.
At the time PowerRip was released WMP 11 ripping worked fine. It might be possible that the latest service pack has changed how WMP11 ripping works. Your issues might be related to PowerRip changes WMP’s registry configuration located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences …including values CDRecordMode, WMARecordRate, WMAProRecordRate, WMARecordQuality, and MP3RecordRate. Go into WMP11 and select the ripping options you want then in PowerRip use the ‘defaults’ which won’t change the registry. Same goes with the path, select it in WMP11 and use the default in PowerRip.
If WMP11 doesn’t start that most likely means the drive or WMP could not recognize the disk. The older the PowerFile the more likely you drives are older and the lasers are less tolerant to scratches or user burned media (as opposed to pressed media).
We have no codecs that integrate with WMP. The ones that come with WMP11… MP3, WMP, and WAV are the only ones we tested with. |
